Accreditation Canada grants unconditional accreditation to Portage

21-déc.-2010Montréal, December 21, 2010 – Portage has obtained unconditional accreditation thanks to the substantial collaborative efforts of its Governors and its organisational team members over the past four years. Accreditation recognises Portage for the quality of the services it provides, the abilities of its employees, and the expertise of the organisation. Recognition by Accreditation Canada demonstrates Portage’s commitment to the ongoing improvement process surrounding the quality of its services.

Portage is proud to be the only substance abuse organisation with multiple service locations across Canada to garner this distinction.

Howlett, President of Portage. “Receiving the approval of Accreditation Canada requires superior quality in our clinical practices, risk management, client safety, performance measurement and governance. The honour is awarded uniquely to a limited number of establishments who have satisfied all the organisational practices required by Accreditation Canada.”

Since 1970, Portage has helped tens of thousands of substance abusers overcome their drug addiction problems. The organisation offers a multitude of services tailored to the needs of its various clienteles, including programs for adults, adolescents, mothers with young children, pregnant women, and substance abusers with mental health problems. Portage operates seven substance abuse treatment centers across Québec, with facilities in Montréal, Beaconsfield, Prévost (the Laurentians), Québec City, and Saint-Malachie (Chaudière-Appalaches).
