Metamorphosis Day across Canada
23-févr.-2010February 14th is the anniversary of the opening of the first
Portage centre in Prévost, Québec near lac Écho. The Metamorphosis Day event was celebrated across the country this year.
A lunch was held at lac Écho for all Portage residents in the Montréal metropolitan region. Residents put on a show and enjoyed organised activities that recognise the many positive transformations that residents have experienced over the years at Portage.
Cassidy Lake residents and staff had a group discussion about Portage’s history and how
Portage Atlantic has evolved over time. Residents each made a new personal coat of arms and participated in various activities to celebrate Metamorphosis Day.
In
Keremeos, BC, residents spent the day outside competing in three-legged races and egg tosses, among other games. They then gathered around a bonfire to share what each of them is grateful for. Diane Power-Jeans, Director of Portage Keremeos, spoke to residents about the history of Portage and recounted success stories of former residents.
