Portage British Columbia
The Portage Residential Rehabilitation Program for Adolescents in British Columbia
Portage British Columbia is a non-profit organisation that operates a
drug addiction rehabilitation centre for adolescents in Keremeos, near Penticton in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. The centre opened its doors in January 2009, as a result of the collaboration of Portage, the Government of British Columbia, and local non-profit organisations,
Central City Foundation and
From Grief to Action.
Portage offers addiction rehabilitation treatment based on the
therapeutic community approach. Its programs encourage personal growth and enable people suffering from drug addiction to transform their lives.
Portage Keremeos, set on a beautiful 58-acre property known as The Crossing, provides treatment for up to 42 youth, aged 14 to18. Residents live on site for approximately six months, depending on their needs. While in treatment, residents can also complete their high school education and receive vocational counselling.
