In 1986, Portage launched a non-residential socio-occupational reintegration program in Québec City in order to support those who have had difficulties with gambling, as well as alcohol and substance abuse, who wish to plan an active role in society.

The approach used is based on developing personal, occupational and social competencies. The program helps users to acquire the necessary tools in order to make responsible choices.

• Computer literacy workshops
• Job-hunting assistance
• Placement and guidance aimed to fostering job retention

Who qualifies for this program?

This program is intended for men and women over the age of 16 who:

• have abused drugs or alcohol or have been addicted to gambling;
• want to re-enter the workforce or continue their education.
